The Process

Our judging panel, consisting of independent experts, will select a shortlist of three companies per award category. The judges will select the winners who will be announced at the Excellence in Energy Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 28th May 2009.

Dr. Peter Rodgers

Dr. Peter Rogers

Dr. Peter Rodgers is an Associate Professor at The Petroleum Institute. He has been involved in thermal design and reliability of electronics systems for the past fifteen years. He has authored or co-authored over fifty journal and conference publications covering a broad range of mechanical engineering topics, and has been an invited lecturer, keynote speaker, panelist, and session chair at international conferences. Dr. Rodgers received the 1999 Harvey Rosten Memorial Award for his publications on the application of numerical analysis to electronics thermal design.

Emil Rademeyer

Emil Rademeyer

Born in South Africa in 1973 and after graduating as an Industrial Engineer, Emil Rademeyer commenced his career at Sasol (South Africa’s Petrochemical giant). He started his career in the plant maintenance field but later specialised in cost engineering. From 1999 he served on the board of the Cost Engineering Association of Southern Africa (CEASA) and in 2000 he was acting President. In 2001 he moved to Dubai and in 2004 he was the co-founder of Proleads Market Intelligence. Proleads have since grown to be the top online research company in the Middle East. He is currently one of the Executive Directors of Proleads.

Terry Willis

Terry Willis

Terry Willis has spent 22 years with BICC Cables, both in the UK and in the Gulf. He has been a resident of Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia where he was appointed Country Manager. He has lived in Dubai for 11 years. He joined the Energy Industries Council as MD Middle East in 2003 to set up their regional office after spending 11 years with CMP Products, a UK manufacturer of cable terminations that focused on the oil and gas industries. He holds a Diploma in Marketing and is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Karen Remo-Listana

Karen Remo-Listana

Karen Remo-Listana has been in professional communications - journalism, public relations and advertising - for almost a decade. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Mass Communication, she is now finishing her Masters in Business and Administration. She is currently a senior correspondent at Emirates Business 24/7, the Middle East's first and only business daily and an independent communications consultant for a number of companies. Karen has been the editor of Pipeline Magazine, an international upstream oil and gas publication, and Offshore Arabia, the official magazine of Regional Clean Sea Organization. She is also a special contributor to Future Fuels, Times Asia, Gulf Business, Business Traveler and the International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement (INECE) among other international publications. A former OPEC correspondent, she has also interviewed top global CEOs and government ministers.
