The Business and Technical Conference of the World Heavy Oil Congress provided a platform for the critical issues facing the international heavy oil industry. With three full days of social networking, a business and technical conference, WHOC offered delegates the chance to collaborate with hundreds of heavy oil professionals from 20 countries.

The Business Conference was headed up by nine senior managers from the international heavy oil community and chaired by Hugues Montmayeur, Vice President, Orinoco Belt Assets, TOTAL Venezuela, and co-chaired by Fadi Kabboul, Internal Director, Planning and Control, PDVSA. Session topics include Global Supply & Demand, Markets & Economics, The Environment, and Technology. Delegates also participated in networking breaks and a keynote address & luncheon.

Technologies for the Heavy Oil Industry

The Technical Conference was chaired by K.C. Yeung, Manager of Oil Sands Technology, Husky Energy Inc, and co-chaired by Hercilio Rivas, Internal Director, R&D, PDVSA. Focusing on improving performance of existing projects, maximizing recovery, and reducing costs and the environmental footprint, the Technical Conference featured presentations by 112 authors from around the world. Networking breaks and luncheons provided networking opportunities for delegates.
